Essential Question
How did you apply video game design theory to your GCOM 420 projects and prototypes?
Game #1 "Not a Binding of Issac copy"
My partner and I wanted to create a top down dungeon crawler game like "The Binding of Issac". In our game you play as a Rambo prisoner who is trying to hill the warden named Boss Man. The player goes a clears room after room of prison guards who get more gear up as you move along in the levels, For example the first level guards would only be wearing normal cloth clothing with body armor, and second level the guards would be wearing riot gear because they are aware that there is a prison break. While playing the game you can find stuff like med-kits to replenish your health, guard keys so that you can open up doors that bring you to rooms that you can get coins, and coins so that you can buy med-kits and weapons from other prisoners while you try to escape. Every Room will have 1 really armored enemy or 2-3 lightly armored enemies, and the Boss Room will have the boss and a 2 really armored enemies.

Details of the game
The fictional background story of your game: You are jack, a man who was to become a director at a big name programming company, But he was framed by the other directors at the company because he was to be the next CEO. They decide to frame him for the murder of the CEO's wife, now serving a life sentence for a murder that he did not commit. Jack has spent 3 years in prison and is fed up with being abused by the warden, Boss Man. Boss Man was apart of the conspiracy to frame Jack. Jack decides that he is going to kill Boss Man and anyone who tries to stop him from escaping.
Who are the major characters in your game?: Jack (Player), Boss Man (Main Boss), and Guard (Normal Enemy)
What is the goal of the player(s) of the game?: To fight your way room by room and level by level until you get to Boss Man and kill him.
What are the key challenges presented to the player?: Riot enemies what hit hard and take longer to kill. The main boss had a gun and it hits hard.
If the game has levels, a brief description of each of the levels: Level 1 would be to kill all the normal guards in all the rooms while learning the controls. Level 2 will be harder and you will have to kill all the Riot guards including that are with the normal guards until you find Boss Man and defeat him.
How and if this game has been specifically designed for this audience (Kids and people who like games like The Binding of Issac): Our game is designed for this audience because it is arcade enough for kids and we made it similar is controls to The binding of Issac because bot me and my partner like that game.
